Pour la petite histoire, cette chanson évoque ,bien sûr, le festival de jazz de Montreux, et plus précisément le fameux incendie du casino(qui eu lieu le 4 décembre 1971) lors d'un concert de Frank Zappa. Dans la chanson, Funky Claude désigne l'organisateur du festival, Claude Nobs.

D'ailleurs, si vous vous êtes déja promené au bord du lac à Montreux, vous y aurez certainement vu que le passage des deep Purple(revenus je ne sais combien de fois au festival) a été immortalisé par quelques petites notes sur une portée, et ces mots:  Smoke On The Water, of course

Ce morceau est compris dans le disque nommé "1984", sorti en ...1984 (trop fort les gars!. Et juste en passant, il me semble bien que le chanteur a inventé une sorte de danse assez particulière ,non?). Perso, le synthé sur cette chanson, je trouve assez déplacé (surtout pour un groupe de hard-rock, voyons...)

Mais que sont donc devenus les Van Halen en 2007? Reformation, of course. Petite phrase du chanteur à ce sujet:

"D'habitude, quand un groupe annonce un retour comme le nôtre, ils ont plutôt l'air de randonneurs que de rockers". "Mais avec nous, ce sera tout sauf ça".

On l'a tous entendu au moins dix fois dans sa vie, à la radio, à la télé, ou(sacrilège) à la finale de la coupe du monde de foot, quand les italiens reprenaient le fameux riff de basse de la-dite chanson. Elle a même été plagiée sans honte par les clubbers, adaptée à l'indigeste sauce house/electro...

C'est donc dire, palsembleu(je savais que ce mot me servirait un jour), si "Seven Nation Army" est une chanson adulée, accrocheuse(qui n'a pas eu toute la journée, après l'avoir écoutée une seule fois, rien qu'ume seule, ce "taaa ta ta ta ta taaa- taaa" ancré dans le cerveau?), dont le clip est pratiquement le seule potable, plaisant et recherché que je connaisse^^
